Project In Progress: which who it includes Laura Hargiss,Emily Gooch, Emily Oborn, & Elaine Janis
Design Concept-

The circular fish tank in the center of the waiting area is the main inspiration for the emergency department remodel. The fish tank dictated the curvilinear lines used throughout the space in the seating, flooring, and reception area creating movement and variation. The vibrant greens, blues, and golden yellow are pulled from this focal point. Ample daylight will be provided through the new floor-to-ceiling curtain walls in the waiting area in order to create a bright, warm, and comforting space. Adding further seating in the waiting area, an additional trauma room, and two additional patient rooms doubled the capacity to create a more efficient emergency department.

Design Concept-

Creating comfortable environments for gathering, eating, and working were of top priority when designing the cafeteria and nurses’ stations. Inviting hues and warm patterns adorn the furniture and walls in both the guest and staff cafeterias. Crisp white, rich wood, and calming blue tile are finishes that will separate the nurses’ stations from other areas. The walls will be simple and strong to withstand moving carts and equipment. Overall, the general hospital will feel fresh, alive, and a place for health.
